In the vibrant heart of Amsterdam, The Hive seamlessly blends living, working, creativity, and nature. This innovative project, designed by Architectenburo OZ, combines a brand-new residential building with a restored monument: the former modernist Calvijn College. The central highlight? A unique climate forest that grows alongside its residents, placing ecology, relaxation, and community at its core.
The 3D renders play a crucial role in bringing this urban jungle to life. The climate forest was visualized with precision, focusing on native vegetation, playful light effects, and an atmosphere that balances tranquility and vibrancy. The challenge lay in making this green oasis appear fresh and sunlit, despite being surrounded by tall buildings. Special lighting techniques and a careful representation of the lush vegetation highlight the project’s emphasis on nature inclusivity.
Our visualizations not only provide photorealistic depictions of the exterior and interior but also tell the story of sustainability and ecology that makes The Hive truly unique. With 12 exterior images, 10 interior visuals, and a dynamic 45-second film, future residents are immersed in an enchanting blend of urban life and nature.
The visual materials are used for web, print, and social media, presenting a living environment that is both trendy and harmonious. Our work included 12 exterior visuals, 10 interiors, and a 45-second film.
